python-pil software package provides Python Imaging Library (Pillow fork), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-pil
python-pil is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-pil package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-pil *
You will get with python-pil package name, version, architecture and description in a table
